Today

Sun Jun 26, 2005, 2:58 PM
Today have I learned some serious stuff. Like vector art in Photoshop CS 2. So I made one deviantion today and submitted.

Then, I deleted som old stuff that were really boring and dull.

Whatever, I am really tired, but have nothing better to do than this. I belive I am in a mood where I try to clean up my computer and other things made in binary.

I am a grad student in mathematics, and my research is closely related to fractals. (Yes, there is an entire field in mathematics about fractals!)

I use my own programs, in Java, implemented after Draves description on fractal flames. I will share my source code to anyone interested.

When it comes to the mathematics behind fractals, I will happily answer them if I am able to. If not, I can probably point in the right direction.

Jag har skrivit ett dokument om klassiska fraktaler på svenska, som kan hittas på addressen [link]

Jag tar gärna emot alla sorts konstruktiva kommentarer om texten.

i think im beginning to understand wut fractal's are, but i ran across this[link] and to me it doesent "look" like one but he used, wut i think is a proper program for it. so i was wondering if u could tell me if this is or isent one.

That is clearly a fractal, created with apophysis.
I have used such programs for a long time, so that I can almost "see" what parameters that was used. Here, there is a variation called "cross" among others that have been used. The image is a representation of what one in mathematics call an invariant measure.
Search the wikipedia for "Fractal flame" and you will get the algorithm on how to generate such images.

Sure, I assume it is some kind of computer-generated images?
Can you describe the process how you did create them?

Then it is not fractal,
